Cleft Lip and Palate
Posted on October 10, 2017
Question:
My daughter has a cleft lip (CL) and cleft palate (CP). I was told by her team of doctors in Albuquerque to take her to you because your method of treatment eliminates the need for major upper jaw surgery. Is this true?
Answer:
Yes, I have been able to eliminate the need for a Maxillary Le Forte advancement surgery on 100% of my patients. For several years now I have been using either the Damon or the H-4 High Tech System of Braces, which has shown a huge paradigm shift in treatment of both CL and CP. These treatment modalities not only eliminate a tough surgery, but also eliminate the hated palatal expander. Both treatments allow a child to finish treatment in junior high rather than later in high school. I recommend that any parent who has a child with cleft lip and or palate to receive a consultation with me.
